Listen to what top music critics are saying about this fast-rising new star!
(OK, it's really me, talking about myself in the third person. It's kind of fun. You should try it.)
Ian has been composing and recording music in various styles since the early eighties. When asked to compose a CD of meditation music for Reiki (a form of energy healing) and Alexander Technique (a way of teaching your body to be balanced and supported, like it was when you were born) sessions, he jumped at the opportunity. "I've just finished setting up a recording studio in my home, and since I've been recording instrumental ideas (many of them meditative) for almost thirty years now, this is the perfect project for my first album."
And here is some riveting commentary about the MP3s for sale:
"Well, the first piece I did was Maple Leaf Rag, which was recorded before work on the meditation CD had hardly begun (ironically, it was the last piece to be released to the download sites).
Lost in the Wind started as a classical-sounding melody that happened to evolve into a cascade of rolling arpeggios and frenzied triplets. I was telling one of my piano students, Andy (sorry, no neat link with his name), how the piece made me think of a whirlwind picking up a piece of paper, and he suggested 'Lost In the Wind'.
Finally, Smooth Sailing. I love this one. It was all accidental. I was working on music for my second CD, and when I thought I had a piano sound, I actually had a piano/strings sound (that's the opening chord of the piece you hear). Later on, my hand accidentally bumped the keyboard, producing a farting-like noise, which startled me. I then played more notes, and realized that it was actually a beautiful saxophone sound. From there, the piece wrote itself. Near the end, I stuck in a Rhodes piano solo, my first opportunity to show off a little.
While you're here, why don't you make yourself comfortable and read everything. You came all the way out here. Might as well get your money's worth (you did pay the cover charge before entering my site, didn't you?).

...wait a minute... that's better...
can't read the titles at all, I think just to the left of my right eye are the first 9 or 10 Bob Dylan albums, preceded by a couple of Duran Duran albums, and all the Doors albums. On the other side of my head, a lot of Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, and Sly & The Family Stone (they're alphabetical, but there are two holders; top to bottom on the left holder, and then top to bottom on the right holder). The thick grey one at the tip of my left shoulder is The Traveling Wilburys Collection. OK, I think it's time to go to bed now!
